Fasttranslator.co.uk and Foreign Languages

It goes without saying that you can contact us for the more common languages like Spanish, French, English and German. However, our translation agency also provides a translation service for more exotic languages. These languages include Urdu, Punjabi, Farsi, Javanese, Hebrew and the Eskimo languages Aleut and Inuktitut. For example, we translate bills submitted by clients for a number of insurance companies. These bills usually result from medical treatments which people have undergone whilst abroad on an (exotic) holiday.

Fast turnaround times are essential in such cases. We therefore have more than one translator in place for these languages. Irrespective of whether you have a text in Hindi or Berber, you can rely on us to get it done.

Availability

There is a definite shortage for some of these languages. For example, there are only a couple of English translation agencies which can work with Somali. We are one of them. Plus, if the appropriate translators are all busy, or if you are looking for a specific language we don’t offer, then you always have the option of having the text translated into a more common language first. The text will then first be translated into English, French or Spanish and subsequently into the required target language, such as Wolof for example. However, you do need to allow more time for these types of translation projects.

Different Alphabets and Scripts:

There are plenty of different alphabets or forms of writing across the world. These alphabets and scripts can be split up into various different categories. For example, there are alphabets which have a single symbol for each sound, which includes the Roman, Greek and Cyrillic alphabets. There are also alphabets which have a single symbol for each vowel, but which leave out the consonants. Examples of these are the Arabic and Hebrew alphabets. There are also languages which have a symbol for every syllable. The Japanese alphabet is an example of this.

In addition, there are alphabets which combine the symbols for consonants and vowels and thereby form new symbols. An example is the Dravidian alphabet which is used, for example, in Hindi. Another important form of writing worth mentioning here is the pictographic script. Each word has its own symbol. A pictographic script can easily exceed 10,000 symbols. Examples include Chinese and Egyptian hieroglyphics.
